Disgraced NFL great OJ Simpson is now a 'completely free man' after being granted an early discharge from parole by the Nevada Parole Board.

The 74-year-old former football hero and actor, and convicted Las Vegas armed robber was granted good behavior credits and discharged from parole effective December 1, Nevada State Police spokeswoman Kim Yoko Smith said Tuesday.

'Mr Simpson is a completely free man now,' said Malcolm LaVergne, Simpson's lawyer in Las Vegas.

The acquitted murder suspect had been on parole since October 1, 2017, after serving nine years in prison for an armed robbery in Las Vegas in which he claimed he was trying to retrieve memorabilia taken from him after his infamous trial for the killings of wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman.

His parole term was set to end on February 9, 2022 but the Nevada Parole Board granted him an early discharge on November 30, a decision that was ratified on December 6.

Simpson declined an immediate interview, his attorney said, and LaVergne declined to talk about Simpson's future plans, including whether he intends to remain in Nevada.

He told parole officials before his release from prison that he planned to move to Florida.

He instead moved to a gated community in Las Vegas where he plays golf and frequently takes to Twitter to offer opinions about college and pro sports, especially football.

'Life is fine,' he told The Associated Press during a June 2019 interview.

Simpson was convicted by a Clark County jury in October 2008 and served nine years in prison for leading five men, including two with guns, in a September 2007 confrontation with two sports collectibles dealers at a Las Vegas casino hotel.

Simpson insisted he only wanted to retrieve personal mementoes and items stolen from him following his acquittal in Los Angeles in the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman.

The two were found stabbed to death outside of her Los Angeles condominium on June 13, 1994, with bloodstains matching Simpson's blood type found at the scene.

He had become the main suspect in the double-murders by the morning of June 17 of that year, when he led the Los Angeles Police Department in a low-speed car chase in his white Ford Bronco.

Simpson was eventually acquitted of the murders in a trial that captivated the nation and propelled the legal careers of Robert Kardashian, Robert Shapiro and Johnny Cochran.  Other members of his legal Dream Team included F.

In 1997, a different jury found him liable for the killings in a civil court and he was ordered to pay millions.

In a collection of photographs, the disgraced footballer could be seen on September 13, 2007, drinking at night clubs hours after he and a handful of friends stormed a room at the Palace Station hotel in Las Vegas to take the memorabilia.

The invasion was recorded by memorabilia-dealers inside, prompting Simpson's arrest for armed robbery on September 16.

On September 15, still blissfully unaware of his looming arrest and incarceration, Simpson served as best man for his friend Thomas Scotto at the Little White Chapel.

Scotto's wedding was what had drawn him to Las Vegas for the fateful weekend.

Scotto was one of the few friends who stuck by Simpson after he was found liable for the 1995 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman.

Despite being criminally cleared in the 'trial of the century', Simpson was found responsible for 핑카지노주소 the killings in a civil lawsuit filed by their families.

By the weekend of September 15, 2007, he had been told to find $33million to give the Goldman and Brown families in damages as part of the suit.

His attorneys claimed he was broke and argued that he would never be able to pay the full amount. To make a living, he wrote a book about the murders titled 'What If'.

But he was also forced to turn over personal items which would then be sold at auction to raise money.

That included some of what he stole in the hotel room raid at the Palace Station.

Namely, his Heisman Trophy, his wife Nicole's wedding ring and the football from one of his winning games were all up for sale.

He also told friends in Las Vegas that a signed photograph from former FBI Director J.

Beforehand, he reportedly told Tom Riccio, one of the men involved: 'This is not memorabilia. These are personal artifacts that were stolen from me.

'Everyone thinks nothing bad happens to me.

Here I am being robbed. Why don't we show the world that I have to go by myself to get my stuff back?'

Memorabilia dealer Bruce Fromong testified during Simpson's trial that he set up a meeting with one of the infamous star's friends who he suspected was a legitimate buyer.

Instead, Simpson turned up to the meeting with other men and they all had guns. In recordings of the robbery afterwards, 핑카지노주소 Simpson was heard shouting: 'You think you can steal my s**t?'

Michael McClinton, one of the other men involved, 핑카지노추천 later told how Simpson got drunk in the hours after the robbery and warned the other men never to reveal there were guns involved.

In 2008 Simpson was jailed for 33 years for the robbery but was released in October 2017, after serving nearly nine years.

Scotto, who died in 2019 at age 56, reportedly said in his deathbed that Simpson had admitted to the killings of Brown and Goldman.

He had invited Simpson to live with him once he was granted parole in 2017, but later claimed to the media that Simpson had slept with his then-fiancée before the disgraced football star committed the robbery.

Simpson had been scheduled for discharge from parole February 9, but the parole board granted him about three months of good time credits.
